Eligibility Requirements for NEED Leadership Scholarship

To apply for the NEED Leadership Scholarship:

• A recommended student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and obtain a SAT score of 1,000; i.e. highest combined Math and Verbal (Critical Reading) Score. (The ACT composite score equivalent is 22)
• African American student who attends an accredited high school in Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Lawrence, Washington or Westmoreland County.
• Applicant must have been a resident of one of the counties listed above for one (1) year prior to entering in an accredited post-secondary institution and enrolled for one full school year.

Applicant Submission Requirements

• NEED Leadership Scholarship Application
• High School Transcript (grades 9 through the 11th grade)
• Extracurricular Activities Form
• A personal letter from the student
• Counselor Recommendation
• Community Leader Recommendation
• Individual Wallet Size Photo
