Thanks to Richard King Mellon Foundation, we were able to launch a successful 50th Fund Campaign

As we look forward to our 50th anniversary, we launched a $7.5 million fund-raising initiative that will assist NEED in removing barriers to educational access and success for thousands of young African American men and women in southwestern Pennsylvania though our college access program, parent and student workshops, mentoring and retention programs, scholarships, and workforce development programs.

The initiative began on January 1, 2008 and was expect to conclude by January 31, 2011. The campaign received a $2 million challenge grant from the Richard King Mellon Foundation, the full receipt of which is contingent on NEED reaching a total of $7 million by 2011.
