The Colleges & Universities
The NEED HBCU Educational Tour is a rite of passage for 10th and 11th graders that is also an invaluable learning experience outside the classroom. The Educational Tour enriches the students’ experience by allowing them to gain firsthand knowledge about their major or field of interest. Students have the opportunity to visit many of the top Historically Black Colleges and Universities which include:
- Tuskegee University
- North Carolina Central University
- Alabama State University
- Morehouse College
- Spelman College
- Clark Atlanta University
- Johnson C.Smith
- North Carolina A&T University
- Howard University
- Cheyney University
- Lincoln University
Other Historical Sites
Furthermore, the NEED HBCU Educational Tour exposes students to many new situations such as traveling out of the state, being away from their parents, and visiting numerous colleges and universities. In addition, the tour supplements classroom learning by providing students with an opportunity to have actual hands-on learning experiences at historical sites that are described in text books and classroom lectures such as:
